Taking place at TD Garden in Boston on January 20th, UFC 220 will be one of the first events on the 2018 mixed martial arts calendar. With Daniel Cormier and Volkan Oezdemir confirmed to fight it out for the UFC light heavyweight belt, there will also be a number of hotly anticipated bouts featured on the undercard.
While live coverage of the event will be available to BT Sports subscribers, everyone outside the US will be able to stream it online by subscribing to a VPN and getting hold of a UFC TV pass. Or of course by finding a site that is streaming the event live! To explain how to do this, I will tell you everything you need to know about how to get online from outside the US and watch UFC 220.
So, to make sure that you watch UFC 220 live stream, just follow these 3-easy steps.
1. Subscribe to a VPN Service
You may well be asking yourself ‘what is a VPN?’ and ‘why do I need one to stream UFC?’. Both very reasonable questions, and ones I will clear up now.
A VPN, known to techies as a ‘Virtual Private Network,’ is a service which allows users to change their location and access content which would otherwise be geo-locked in countries like the US, UK, France, Australia, and Canada. In fact, the list could be almost endless!
A lot of UFC streams, for example, are not accessible to viewers outside the US. So a VPN will allow anyone in those mentioned countries and more to get around it and watch the UFC fights live.
As there are so many VPN providers currently available, I’ve been reviewing them, (see here.). With the ultimate goal of seeing which are the best-priced and which you’ll be able to use on your personal laptop, PC, tablet, iPhone, iPad, Android smartphone, or media streaming device.

NordVPN- 6810 Votes
- $3.67 /mo
PureVPN- 4186 Votes
- $3.54 /mo
IPVanish- 2955 Votes
- $6.49 /mo
Out of the three recommended above, you’ll be able to select a subscription which best meets your specific needs. For example, there are packages for monthly use or yearly use.
2. Where to Watch: A UFC or BT sports Pass and More
Once you’re browsing the web with your VPN connected to a US server. You should head to www.btsport.com or www.ufctv.com to purchase one of the packages which suits you best.
For example, if it’s just UFC 220 you want to see, you’ll be able to grab a fight pass for just that event. If on the other hand, you want to watch future UFC events, you might want to consider getting a subscription which allows you to return for all of the other live fights billed for 2018 and beyond.
Other places to watch include:
- FirstRowSports.TV – Although Free to use, you will without doubt get poor video quality. Also, my advice is, don’t use this without a VPN, and get an ad blocker
- LiveTV.sx – Another great free site, but use with a VPN for peace of mind
3. Get Online and Watch UFC 220 Live
Now that you’re accessing your chosen stream by using your VPN, you’ll be able to watch UFC 220 live stream free and keep up with all of the action.
Of course, if you’re using one of the VPN providers we mentioned earlier, you’ll be able to watch the fight on any device you like. Most VPN platforms these day’s support Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Android, and iOS. In fact, if you choose carefully, there’s a good chance you could even stream via Apple TV, PS4, and Xbox One X, and S. In fact, if you’re the owner of a Chromecast, Amazon Fire stick or Roku, they will work too!
