Pixel Bender basics on Adobe TV

Here is a video that I did a while back for Adobe TV. It walks you through how to create a simple Pixel Bender filter and then incorporate it into Flash CS4. Very similar to what I showed on gotoAndLearn but it’s still worth a look.

I’m always surprised by the speed of Pixel Bender. Thanks for the vid, Lee.

Any ideas as to when we’ll get for/while loop support in Pixel Bender in Flash? Hopefully sooner than Flash CS5/Player 11.

That’s cool Lee. I guess I was going to ask why not use a Tween engine to desaturate the image, but you answered by saying you can use your filters with other apps which is cool. So much to learn and so little time.

    Thanks!

Lee, my question is a bit of out context, but how can i download videos from Adobe TV.

I rely want to see those videos, but I can’t. My speed is too slow.

So, if you know, please, can you help?

You must get a lot of fan mail, but I just wanted to say great video, and thanks for all of your tutorials! gotoAndLearn is fabulous. Thank you!

Vitaly, maybe it would be best if you installed the Adobe Media Player AIR app so that it would download the video onto your desktop. I think that would be a good solution for you.

Does the PixelBender feature suffer from the scaling limitation that the ColorMatrixFilter does? Namely, when you apply a ColorMatrixFilter to an Image and scale your image above 1.0, then the filter is no longer honored!

Where can I get the Pixel Bender that works with CS3? Adobe abandoned that version in place of CS4? Thanks

I have a question that has probably been answered a bunch of times: Why is it that when I publish an swf file locally I can see my effect using the pixellate pbj but when I post to my site it is visually non-existent.

I can provide the custom Pixellator class to show how I am using it.

Thanks in advance for any direction on this issue
