Second Pixel Bender tutorial is now live

I just uploaded the second part of the Pixel Bender tutorial. This time I show you how to export a Pixel Bender filter from the toolkit. Then I import the PBJ file into Flash and apply it to an image. I am compiling to Flash Player 10 using MXMLC which I described in detail in an earlier tutorial. This workflow will obviously be much easier once Flash CS4 is released. If you come up with some cool filters let us know in the comments! Check it out at http://www.gotoandlearn.com.

    Really thank you! I haven’t watch it yet, but I’m sure its very good, like previous tutorial.

    Sorry for my English. I can’t speak English very well. Anyway, Thank you!

    A note: Introduction to AMFPHP1 is in a wrong category. It was using AS3 not AS2.

    Another awesome tutorial Lee. BTW, I bought a Mac for the sole purpose of running TextMate; but it can only run OS 10.3 and you have to have OS 10.4 or higher to run TextMate lol.

    Dear Edward McIntyre! You bought a Mac just for TextMate? I can suggest you Notepad++ for Windows. Have you tested it?

    Hello Lee
    Not sure if you get involved in the creation of Flash / Flex applications for financial gain, but we are looking for a knowleadgeable programmer who can build a movie player that will display content via a CD on both the Mac and Windows platform, there is a little more to it than this, but this is the basics of the project. I understand that you may no longer be in the market place for custom work, and if that’s the case if you could recomend anyone who you feel may be able to build a Flex application to do this I would be grateful.

    All the best
    Colin

    Hey lee,

    Firstly, great tutorial as usual! I can definitely see some really awesome effects coming out of the community as the release of CS4 gets closer.

    Secondly, this isn’t really related but what is the OSX shortcut you are using when you browse for the flex-config file??

    Cheers,
    Jassa

    Hi Lee,
    How to use filters with two input images (as crossfade filter has):
    input image4 frontImage;
    input image4 backImage;
    How to apply such filter in Action Script?

    Any chance for a 3rd installation where you demonstrate how to add controls or animate the filter? :) :)

    Thanks for the tutorial. That is really good.
    I was wondering how I can apply multiple filters on a single image?
    Mens I want to apply blur filter and then adjust contrast.
    So any one have any idea how this can be done?
