Adobe proposes AMF support for Zend Framework

Since my last couple of posts and tutorials have been focused on PHP, it is good timing to tell you that AMF will soon be coming to the Zend Framework. Much like AMFPHP, the proposed Zend_Amf component will make communication between Flash and PHP lightening fast. What’s even better news is that the guy Zend has advising them on implementing AMF is none other than Wade Arnold, who runs the AMFPHP project. Look for a lot more news on this as it becomes available. This is an exciting step towards solidifying the relationship between PHP and Flash.

That is great news Lee. Although I would like better that AMF will be part of the PHP Core and not part of a framework, so everybody could benefit of this and not be forced to learn a new framework.

Sounds good… this component you speak of… is it going to use the AMF extension written in c++? Similar to CakeAMFPHP plug? Joomla frame work also has an AMF component called J-AMPHP.. for those interested

Ummm, wow!! That is amazing news!

First Google with their (albeit currently rudimentary) searching of Flash content and then this.

These are exciting times for Flash technology. Utilizing Flash to the best of its capabilities is finally starting to get a whole lot easier.

Congrats Wade Arnold, this could be big.
