Yes you heard it right. You can now download the full API documentation for Astro. Go get it and start building and trying to break stuff with the new APIs. We rely on you to help us make the player all it can be.

Nice. Thank you for your constant work on improving AS, it (the language) is what got me into actual programation, and I really love Flash programing, “sadly” I have to spend most time using .NET or VB6 (not that I dislike that either).

Just a thing, when showing the inherited properties of any DisplayObject subclass (MC, Sprite, Bitmap, etc) doesn’t show the new ones like z, rotationX, etc. I suppose this is the same for other cases, and bet you’re already aware of it, but…

  7. May 21st, 2008 | 11:31 am

er…there shouldn’t be a Z property on the sprite Object? Or the rotationX, rotationY, etc… O_o

    Well..diggin’ in the docs!!!

    Awesome post. Thanks.

    Lee,

We’re looking for a AS3 developer of your caliber, (also Keith Peters, John Grden, Andy Zupko, etc.) to work on a cutting-edge project set to revolutionize the web. Do you know anyone that may or may not be interested in filling this position for us? We’re looking for a tough-as-nails AS3 developer, and an AS3-speaking designer. If you know of anyone, could you send us their contact info at tkassembled@gmail.com?
Thanks Lee, hope to hear from you soon!

    – TK

PS: Totally stoked to see the new tutorials on Astro! FP10 is rad, thanks for helping get many of us started on developing for it!

Is there someone in the communicity would like to make a Class Diagram Poster for the Astro API ? (include Flash and AIR)

Class Diagram Poster IS COOL THING!!!

  16. May 22nd, 2008 | 12:06 am

Dear Lee Brimelow,it says that:”Applications and videos will run smoother and faster with expanded use of hardware acceleration. By moving several visual processing tasks to the video card, the CPU is free to do more”

Would you please explain more details about hardware acceleration features that Flash Player 10 can leverage of….?

Is “Hardware Acceleration” can be used on all computers that has GPU,or only for few computers that have qualified GPU?

Which feature is for all and which feature is only for the qualified?

again, thank you for you pretty works!

Hi Lee :) Hello form Norway!

WE need to vote again :) https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-247

I realy hope we can have USB communication in AIR and Flash Player :)

I can imagine many different type of applications which can communicate with different devices connected over USB, atleast my phone (over bluetooth or cable)…

It would be great if AIR and Flash player can have USB API for those things, so that we (developers) are not forced to write socket-servers and take care of installation etc..
