Full interview about Flash and Star Trek

Below is the full interview with OOOii about their use of Flash and AIR in feature films like Star Trek. It is very interesting to hear about their process. There isn’t a low-level discussion of Flash techniques however, as they need to keep those details to themselves for obvious reasons. Enjoy!

Killer. You KNOW I’ve got to have a satire of this… got it all worked on in my head–might take a little while to realize.

Great video, cool company. Another side question… Can you explain your process for getting this video from your camera to an MP4 file like you are using? The quality and scale of the video is really sharp. Just curious. And yes I have watched the video basics tutorials. BTW, when I saw Paul Blart, I thought to myself, that looks like Flash. Thanks Lee.

Wow! Very exciting stuff … always been sort of jealous of motion designers, they get to have all the fun! Now I’m hearing “technology designers” with the dynamic control flash can offer & the wow of after effects!

I’d love to see more of these kind of interview’s lee! thank you.

[...] Lee Brimlow has posted his full interview with OOOii, the team who created all the stuff on the computer screens in the new Star Trek movie. It’s cool how they’ve moved from adding all the interface stuff in post-production, to actually having dynamic content on screen that the actors can see and interact with.
